Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community

7.1 Meet professional ethics and responsibilities

Brief description of evidence

At all times I have conducted myself with high ethics and professionalism. I am an honest, trustworthy and unbiased person. I try to be fair to all students by trying to get all the facts before making judgements.

Both during and after school I aim to be a good role model, acting in a professional and moral manner to uphold the reputation of teachers as respectable members of society.

7.3 Engage with the parents/carers

Brief description of evidence
During my practicum at Bellengin High, I had to ring parents to ask for their childs TAS fees to be paid.
During my practicum at Normanhurst Boys High, I wrote the student comments for reports for my autistic classes. These were then checked over by my mentor teacher and approved.

Analysis of what I learned

It is essential to have a note of all the important details that I need to convey as well as a check list of the students with space to write when the parent was contacted as a record for you, other teachers and the school.

You are not allowed to comment on personal behaviour or other such things, only the acedemics... Comments must also refrain from negativity rather - could improve or spend more time.

Brief description of evidence
Brief description of evidence
There is an emailing list for TAS teachers called 'ESNET' where I often read through the eamils that look useful and also contribute to discussions and questions from time to time. I have also contributed to this site and others with my own resources.

Analysis of what I learned

There are many teachers out there with great ideas and are more than happy to help if asked. There also those who go above and beyond to create a collaborative environment where teachers can go to for help, resources and support.
